Theses are the consequences of a strange phenomenon that occurs in French Guiana. It has been over ten years that some high school students, mostly girls, do what can be called « sudden community crisis » which are known in Guiana under the name of « Baclou ». Girls fall one after another, shouting, running, totally out of control, as if they were possessed. How is this possible ? What might be the reasons to explain such a mystery ? To answer those questions, we immerse in Marroon culture, on the edge of an invisible border, where the spiritual entity « Baclou » is located, a creature which is described by Maroon people as a freaky dwarf made out of flesh and wood.
